About the Station
House of Funk Radio is a small, independent internet radio station broadcasting from Warsaw. It has been running, on and off, for a long time — originally as a hobby project between a few friends who wanted somewhere to put the mixes they were recording at home.
It is still essentially that. There is no company behind it, no editorial board, and no revenue. Two residents select and record most of what goes out, and the rest comes from listeners and producers who send us material. The stream runs continuously, and what you hear at three in the morning is not the same thing you hear at three in the afternoon.
There is no advertising on this station. No pre-roll, no mid-stream breaks, no sponsored segments, no affiliate links, and no third-party trackers. We are not selling anything and we are not paid by anyone. The running costs are covered privately. This is the whole business model, and it is why the station has stayed small.
The Residents
Clockwork
Leans toward tech house and the deeper, more mechanical end of things. Long, patient mixes — most of his recorded sets run past two hours.
Voozy
Warmer and more melodic. Deep house, with occasional detours into funk and disco edits. Responsible for most of the late-night material.
Both have a back catalogue of recorded sets available on the main page. They are complete, continuous mixes recorded in single takes — not compilations — and they are free to download. There is no signup and no email wall; the files are just sitting there.
What Gets Played
Mostly house, in the broad sense: deep, tech, funky, some progressive and minimal, and a reasonable amount of straight funk and disco when it fits. The station has never been strict about genre boundaries, which is either its main strength or its main weakness depending on who you ask.
Nothing is chart-driven and nothing is on rotation because it is charting. If a record has been sitting in someone's crate for fifteen years and still works, it gets played.
Sending Us Music
We take unsolicited submissions and we do actually listen to them. There is no submission fee, no promo pool, and no obligation on either side. If we play something, you get credited on air and in the stream metadata.
What to send:
- MP3 at 320kbps, or WAV if you prefer
- Artist name and track title as you want them displayed
- A line or two about yourself — where you are, what you are doing
- A link to Bandcamp, SoundCloud, or a label page, if you have one
Full DJ sets are welcome too, not just individual tracks. We are particularly interested in people who do not already have a platform.
